Woodside Facility

General Description:

The Dartmouth facility has three separated shops that allow us to handle chrome, carbon and stainless steel spool production as well as machining, structural steel and plate fabrication, preparation and assembly.

Location:

  • Located in the Woodside Industrial Park in Dartmouth
  • Easy access to steel and pipe suppliers and to subcontract resources
  • Within one kilometer of common user wharf facilities
  • 47,000 Sq  Ft. facility on 3.2 Acres

Types of Work:

  • Individual pipe spools or pipe modules in a variety of materials; carbon, stainless steel, chromes, copper, nickel, duplex, super duplex heavy wall and other specialized materials. Automatic cold bending of pipe ½ " to 4" Schedule 40 to 160.  We have developed over 500 ASME welding procedures
  • Fully equipped for machining in turning, milling, slotting, boring, drilling, cutting and spray welding. These are complemented by our mechanical and hydraulic crews with CWB and ASME certifications.
  • The steel facility fabricates tanks, structural and plate products for on shore and marine installation. Aecon Fabco is fully experienced and equipped for plate and structural steel fabrication and erection for Marine, Accommodation Modules and Pipe Modules and have welders qualified to CSA standard W47.1 S and W 47.2 M.

Dartmouth Main Shop

  • Two roll up doors with removable centre column allow the full width of the shop to be opened for the movement of large fabrications
  • Welding : Submerged Arc, Semi Automatic FCAW and  GMAW, Standard and Orbital GTAW as well as SMAW.
  • Qualified operators and over 300 procedures and for all grades of carbon, stainless, chromes, copper, nickel, duplex,  super duplex, titanium, heavy wall and specialty materials 
  • Pre and post heat treatment equipment, electric and gas

Dartmouth Stainless Shop

  • Size 100’ x 38’
  • One – 5 ton crane (23’ under hook)

Dartmouth Lay-down and Storage Area: 

  • Laydown area - 5 acres available
  • Additional dockside lay-down area is available at nearby Woodside Wharf
  • Full range of mobile boom cranes and forklifts
  • Easy access to wharf facilities for transportation by ship or barge
